Position Title
    Chemistry Lab Director / Instructor

Job Description
    Lewis and Clark College is seeking a multi-skilled professional to assist the chemistry department in teaching lower division labs, inventorying and arranging safe storage of chemicals and apparatus, coordinating disposal of chemical waste, conducting safety training for department personnel, and performing other duties as assigned. This position is a benefits-eligible, 37.5 hours per week, 11-month position, offering a month off in the summer as well as paid time off for winter break.

Qualifications desired
    Education
        Master's degree
    Experience
        Experience teaching chemistry as an instructor or TA.
        • Ability to teach chemistry labs to a wide variety of students.
        • Ability to maintain and organize a chemical stockroom and dispose of chemical waste
        • Strong organizational skills.
        • Able to work cooperatively with others (faculty, students and staff) on campus.

Job Location
    Portland OR

Salary
    Hiring range is $35,000 - $40,000/year.

Position Title
    Research Associate - Medicinal Chemistry

Job Description
    The Research Associate - Medicinal Chemistry will participate in Genentech's innovative program in drug discovery. The candidate will be responsible for the design and synthesis of novel drug-like compounds.

Qualifications desired
    Education
        Bachelor's or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry
    Experience
        This position requires 2-8 years of experience in synthetic or medicinal chemistry. The incumbent should be highly motivated and excited to work in a collaborative environment. Demonstrated expertise in multi-step synthesis, compound purification and structural characterization is preferred.
