Family Science
Night
On April 16, 2009, the Santa Clara Valley
(SCV) Section held its second annual Family Science Night at the Ben
Franklin Intermediate School in Colma, California.
At Family Science Night, chemists from the Santa Clara
Valley Section and from the California Section set up over 15
experiments including an identification of mystery powders, paper
chromatography of ink, pH experiments, making Slime, plastic recycling,
and sampling liquid nitrogen ice cream. Over 300 students
and family attended.
This is a hands-on evening for the students and the
following experiments were available:
